Excellent Shrink Wrap Installation Job from Total Mobile Marine

This job consisted of over 70 disaster trailers that were shrink wrapped and transported from Michigan to California. The customer initially wanted the trailer wrapped to the very bottom of the unit, but after a few were wrapped this way, the customer found out the trailers needed to be inspected at different times while traveling and the trailer door had to be accessible for DOT inspections. Also, it was discovered that the belly bands were getting a bit beat up during transit.
With this feedback and insight, Jeremy with Total Mobile Marine had the skill and knowledge to quickly switch his installation method to make the changes possible for a successful trip for the rest of the trailers. He made the bottom of the cover sit higher and decided to secure the belly band to the lip on the frame with Preservation Tape. His before pictures are on the top row and the updated cover style is shown in the bottom row.
These disaster trailers were too big to be placed on a semi trailer (each trailer was about 13′ tall), so they had to be shrink wrapped with all the lights visible, and towed individually and the back door wrapped separate for DOT inspections.
A 30′ wide 8.5-mil roll of shrink wrap was used for the trailer portion, and a 12′ wide 7-mil was used for the ramp door. Jeremy used Permanent Tape on seams and Preservation Tape to secure the shrink wrap to the trailer as well as over the belly strap. Clear Preservation Tape was used over the lights.
Jeremy states, “Over 70 trailers were shrink wrapped and transported 3000 miles each; only lost one shrink wrap cover due to a tornado.”
Thank you, Jeremy for submitting your photos and explaining your application process!

ARE YOU LOCATED OUTSIDE OF MICHIGAN?
ALL SHRINK WRAP USERS CAN TYPICALLY RECYCLE LOCALLY…
Dr. Shrink’s film is 100% virgin resin made of #4 Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE) and is one of the most common plastic types AND is 100% recyclable at most local recycling centers! All you need to do is remember to keep it C.0.0.L. which is our easy reminder to make sure your wrap is CLEAN, has ZERO accessories (vents, strapping, doors, etc.), has ZERO moisture (be sure it is dry), and is LOOSE when packed for recycling.
Do the environment a favor and give your local recycling center a call. If you need any specific details or data sheets on the plastic, contact us and one of our customer service team members will be glad to help!
Keep boat covers/bags clean, dry, and condensed! All Registration Forms are due on June 1st, 2024.
