Shrink Wrap for Scaffolding and Construction

The Construction industry can yield huge profit margins and is a 12 month shrink wrap business. Government and large building contacts will require scaffolding shrink wrap and exterior containment. Shrink wrap is the most cost effective and durable material that can be used. Available in Extreme 12-mil and up to 60′ in width, with Flame Retardant sizes also available, the Dr. provides the largest selection of film available in the market.

A construction site can be a vulnerable place. Whether it’s the construction of a new building or renovation/add-on to an existing one, there’s the risk of weather eroding all the hard work or ceasing it for a long period of time. For example, water damage – whether it’s rain entering the structure, melting snow, or leaks – is the second most frequent cause of loss during building projects.

Dr. Shrink stocks a complete line of premium, American-made shrink wrap products capable of wrapping large buildings and scaffolding. Our product shrinks “drum-tight” and is far more effective than traditional tarps and sheeting. This durable, weatherproof covering creates a proper enclosure and protects the project from potential damage.

Additionally, our shrink wrap creates an improved work environment. Our white shrink wrap allows natural, shadow-free lighting while blocking harmful UV rays. Worker downtime is reduced and the enclosure can even be heated and cooled.

Shrink wrapping a building or scaffolding on a construction site means not only protecting the work, but workers and productivity as well.

How It Works:

The shrink wrap is applied to scaffolding by lapping it over the top support cable. Heat weld it around the cable every 5-6 feet as it is being unfolded. Once unfolded and spot welded around the top, finish the top weld and perform the same operation on the bottom and sides. With all four sides secured, the shrinking process begins. Start at the bottom and work up using one continuous motion. Upon finishing, perform an inspection for holes and tears.

For buildings, an attachment system is placed around the entire base of the building. When the shrink wrap is draped over, it requires immediate attachment. Attach the shrink wrap along the base, pulling any looseness out of the material. Once secured, the entire wrap is heated and shrunk starting from the base and moving upward.

Training DVDs, instructions, and technical advice are available on how to properly and effectively apply the wrap. Dr. Shrink’s staff offers assistance on all types of shrink wrap products.
