November Notes from Mike.
I hope everyone had a Happy Halloween! We have heard from several marine shrink wrappers this season who have achieved much success in their seasonal wrapping business over the last couple of years, but this year, they have also expanded into new shrink wrap markets! Our customers realize that they cannot, and should not become complacent in only offering shrink wrap services to the seasonal marine industry. In order to remain competitive and grow, businesses must constantly be exploring new market opportunities. I am encouraging all of our marine-related shrink wrap installers to think outside the boat during the offseason! Challenge yourself to explore new markets and take on new industries and applications as shown in the photos above.
I am confident that many of you can build more business and expand your shrink wrap services. We are here for you and are happy to offer advice, guidance, and answer all of your questions. Do you currently have an odd shaped object or puzzling piece of equipment and you aren’t sure how to wrap it or what size film to use? Fill out our Shrink Wrap Sizing & Advice Form where you can upload rough dimensions of the product/equipment, upload pictures of it for our technical team to review, and provide additional details. Our customer service and training expertise is one of the many benefits of working with us. Thank you again for your trust and loyalty in Dr. Shrink, Inc. and for another great fall season.
Warmest Regards,
-Mike Stenberg, President & CEO, Dr. Shrink, Inc.

Impact Institute Marine Service Technology Classes
The Impact Institute was formed by a joint service agreement between ten school corporations in Kendallville, Indiana in 1969. Today, Impact Institute offers 14 different career training programs, from welding and machining to medical technical training and marine service technology.
The Marine Service Technology program typically enrolls 25 to 32 students a year and is a two-year program open to high school juniors and seniors. It is the only program in the US to have earned the Marine Industry Certification.
Marine Service Technology is organized to provide classroom and lab experiences to prepare students for employment in the boating industry. Students completing the two year program will earn their MIC certification. Instruction covers many facets of the industry including outboard and stern drive engine repair, repair and testing of stern drive lower units, steering mechanisms, hull repair and detailing, and shrink wrapping!
Ryan Ramsay, the instructor for the course states, “We bring in some customer’s winterization and shrink wrap projects to make sure our aspiring marine tech students can successfully perform this procedure when they become employed at a dealership or work for a dealer through our internship program.”
The program is partnered with Mercury Marine, Yamaha Marine, BRP Evinrude as well as many boat manufacturers like Bennington, Barletta boat company and more! Students are eligible to earn entry level certifications from these companies.
Well done, students of Impact Institute in the Marine Service Tech program!

Are you shrink wrapping pontoons this season? Wrapping a piece of equipment or other object with thin metal pieces that may be a problem for the strapping?
Dr. Shrink has the solution: Edge Guard.
Information
Edge Guards are thin, 3” long strips (sold in a 4-pack) with a reinforced metal core to put on the vertical pontoon supports that connect the deck to your pontoon or sharp pieces on equipment. The Edge Guard protects your strapping from shearing or shredding against the metal vertical support.
