Shrink Wrap Recycling Day at Irish Boat Shop

Important Update Regarding Shrink Wrap Prices

As part of our ongoing commitment to transparency, we want to keep you informed about the latest developments affecting the resin market and what they may mean moving forward.

Market dynamics have become increasingly constrained, influenced by both domestic and global pressures that continue to drive pricing volatility. After the $0.12/lb. increase effective March 26, we have now received notification from resin suppliers of an additional increase coming very soon. These increases are being driven by rising costs for polyethylene resin, the primary raw material used in the production of shrink wrap.

Dr. Shrink, Inc. is working closely with our primary producers to navigate these ongoing cost changes and limit their impact wherever possible. That said, the scale and speed of the current market shifts make it necessary for us to implement corresponding pricing updates.

We will be making further pricing adjustments in response to these continued market movements. Our focus remains on ensuring consistent product availability while supporting our customers through these challenging conditions.

We encourage you to connect with your Dr. Shrink representative to discuss your current needs, upcoming timelines, and any pricing considerations.

We truly value your partnership and will continue to provide timely updates as conditions develop.

If you are in Michigan and want to participate, it’s as simple as:

Purchase Recycle Run bags from Dr. Shrink, Inc. If registering with less than 5 boat covers, please call Dr. Shrink for a reduced shipping rate via US Mail.
Register for the Recycle Run program online
Depending on bag quantity, either drop your bags off at a designated drop-off location or wait for the Michigan Recycling Coalition to contact you with a pick-up date

The Michigan Recycling Coalition will contact you in June or July with a pick-up date.

Other important information:

If you’re an individual boater or otherwise plan on filling less than 15 bags, you will need to bring your bags to an eligible drop-off location. A list of these locations are listed on the Recycle Run webpage.

To ensure that your shrink wrap can be properly recycled, make sure to remove all vents, straps, bands, and other contaminants. Read step-by-step instructions.
