Spring is finally here and we are coming out of hibernation in Michigan! We welcome the warmer days of spring and look forward to the adventures of summer! As you unwrap your boats and prepare for the season ahead, please remember to recycle your shrink wrap covers. This material is 100% recyclable as long as all contaminants are properly removed. As you know, we have our Recycle Run program in Michigan, but for other states- please check with your local marina or recycling center if they will accept this #4 LDPE plastic.

An announcement for all folks in Michigan- Irish Boat Shop Shrink Wrap Recycling Day is on May 17th! The Shrink Wrap Recycling Day has expanded to all three Irish Boat Shop locations this year! As you get ready to hit the water, don’t just toss your shrink wrap—recycle it. I will be at this event; it is a good time, great atmosphere and people, and makes an impact!

On a different note, I had a wonderful trip to Turkey this past week. I helped work a booth at the Mast Izmir Boat Show with our exclusive distributor in Turkey, Sabir AS. Sabir is the only authorized Dr. Shrink, Inc. distributor in Turkey and they do excellent work. I’ve included some of my photos below of the beautiful scenery in Marmaris, Turkey. Excellent baiting on the Aegean Sea and about a 40 minute ferry ride to the Greek Island of Rhodes.

MICHIGAN CUSTOMERS: Shrink Wrap Recycling Day is coming up!

Shrink Wrap Recycling Day is back—and bigger than ever! Irish Boat Shop is expanding the Shrink Wrap Recycling Day to all three of their locations this year! As you get ready to hit the water, don’t just toss your shrink wrap—recycle it.

Join us on Saturday, May 17th from 9 AM to 12 PM at one of the Irish Boat Shop’s locations near you: Harbor Springs, Charlevoix, or Traverse City.

We’re making it easy for you to do your part. Simply bring your boat’s shrink wrap to any of the three locations and we’ll ensure it is properly recycled in partnership with local and statewide organizations who care about protecting our waterways.

Bonus Perk:
Everyone who brings shrink wrap to recycle will receive 10% off in-store purchases that same day—one way of saying thanks for supporting sustainability and your local marine community.

Plus: We’ll have coffee and donuts waiting for you, because recycling is always better with a treat ☕🍩

Dr. Shrink now has a vinyl decal printer in-house! We’re now selling custom company logo decals for our customers!

Some highlights of these decals:

Printed with UV ink- these decals are made to last the length of the shrink wrap application (much longer than eco solvent ink).
We can print up to 50’’ for length or height of a decal. However, printing something that large would require a very high-resolution image.

Pricing:
Each logo/image will be quoted individually since pricing depends on factors like size, resolution of image, ink usage, and quantity. Contact us for a quote at madelynn@dr-shrink.com
