The purchase of Recycle Run bags does not register you for the pick-up program. Remember to fill out the registration form before the deadline of June 1st, 2026.
Dr. Shrink’s EZ-Fill Recycle Bags are custom-made strictly for the Recycle Run program – only available in Michigan. The EZ-Fill bags hold approximately 800 square feet of plastic. The new and improved bag features a large-mouth opening which allows you to easily stuff more shrink wrap into the bag.
If you plan on filling 15 or more bags, you’re eligible for a free pick-up. To receive pick-up services, you must fill out the registration form by the June 1st, 2026 deadline. The Michigan Recycling Coalition will contact you in June or July with a pick-up date.
Other important information:
- If you’re an individual boater or otherwise plan on filling less than 15 bags, you will need to bring your bags to an eligible drop-off location. A list of these drop-off locations can be viewed here.
- To ensure that your shrink wrap can be properly recycled, make sure to remove all vents, straps, bands, and other contaminants. View an instructional video or read step-by-step instructions.
- You can view/print an informational flyer to spread the word about Recycle Run.
A note about BIODEGRADABLE shrink wrap: Only place regular plastic shrink wrap in your EZ-Fill Recycle Run bag. Biodegradable shrink wrap of any kind cannot be recycled. If biodegradable shrink wrap is found within any EZ-Fill Recycle Run bags, the recycler may landfill all of your bags.
*Some biodegradable shrink wrap may appear to have a green hue (as pictured here). Dr. Shrink’s EnviroShrink product will have “Dr. Shrink” printed in orange text down the middle of the plastic. Neither product is permitted within EZ-Fill Recycle Run bags.
