March 2022 – Shrink Wrap News from the Industry Leader, Dr. Shrink, Inc.

March Notes from Mike.

Hello everyone,

Hard to believe February is now behind us. This month, I am traveling to Dallas, TX for the Helicopter Association International (HAI) “Heli-Expo”. For more than 70 years, HAI has provided support, services, and set the industry safety guidelines for the international helicopter community. All attendees will experience the latest the industry has to offer through demos and 60+ helicopters on the show floor. The Aviation field is growing in the shrink wrap industry and customers and shrink wrap installers alike are recognizing that shrink wrap is widely being utilized for this sector of product/asset protection.

Spring is coming and it’s time to start think of your recycling plans once those shrink wrap covers come off. Please see our section below on ways you can properly recycle used shrink wrap covers.

Warmest Regards,

-Mike Stenberg, President & CEO, Dr. Shrink, Inc.

  • WEEKLY BUNDLE DEALS

Dr. Shrink’s Recycling Run is back for another year here in Michigan! We invite you to join marinas, boat dealers, and other individuals across the state in participating.

To participate, buy your EZ Fill Recycle Run bags here. Each bag comes with a zip tie to seal the bag, along with instructions on how to register and remove your boat covers. Bags are industrial size and can hold covers from up to a 32′ boat or approximately 850 square feet of plastic.

When you buy your bag, the $7 is a one-time fee that covers pick-up, haul-away, and processing directly from your business. After purchasing the bag, you MUST fill out the Registration Form to be put on the pick-up list.

Please remember to keep your boat covers clean, dry and condensed.
All registrations are due on June 1, 2022.

Not in Michigan? All shrink wrap users can typically recycle locally...

Dr. Shrink’s film is 100% virgin resin made of #4 Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE) and is one of the most common plastic types AND is 100% recyclable at most local recycling centers! All you need to do is remember to keep it C.0.0.L. which is our easy reminder to make sure your wrap is CLEAN, has ZERO accessories (vents, strapping, doors, etc.), has ZERO moisture (be sure it is dry), and is LOOSE when packed for recycling.

Do the environment a favor and give your local recycling center a call. If you need any specific details or data sheets on the plastic, contact us and one of our customer service team members will be glad to help!

Aviation

The industries of shrink wrap are vast and provide the opportunity for year-round business. Many installers focus on the Marine and Recreation industry, however, that season is one of the shortest available in the year. Let's think outside the boat and into the Aviation sector. Shrink wrapping helicopters and airplanes are great options for your business growth throughout the year.
