The Manistee Chamber of Commerce hosted their 100th Annual Business Awards dinner on November 10th at the Little River Casino Resort. The program acknowledges businesses and organizations that have contributed to the Chamber of Commerce and have helped the business community and quality of life in Manistee County. Dr. Shrink, Inc. was nominated for Business of the Year and President & CEO, Mike Stenberg was nominated for Business Person of the Year. 
Dr. Shrink, Inc. was named 2016 Business of the Year. Mike Stenberg said, “It’s quite an honor that we have been noticed for being an upstanding business in Manistee. Dr. Shrink, Inc. could not have achieved this reward without out all of its employees. I appreciate all of their help on a daily basis and Business of the Year is just the frosting on the cake.”

On, October 17th, we celebrated Boss’ Day for our wonderful boss, Mike Stenberg. We surprised him with some cupcakes and a few other gifts.

EVER THOUGHT OF WRAPPING A BUILDING?

These buildings were wrapped for Prefabricated Ultraviolet Treatment Facility in White Plains, NY. The buildings were 25′ x 47′ and were split into two pieces for shipping. 7mil white wrap was used on the bottom and 9mil over the top. Great job, guys!

HOW DO YOU COVER YOUR POOL FOR THE WINTER?

One of our customers, William had a great idea for his above ground pool – so he put it to the test this year.
For the middle pole, he used a 10′ piece of galvanized rigid conduit, cut it to 6′ height and embedded it in a 5 gallon bucket filled with concrete with a plastic pan under the bucket to protect the pool liner.
William used 3 – 2×6 pressure treated boards cut to 6″, screwed the top piece to a short vertical 2×4 to fit the standard top cap. Then he used another 2 – 2×6 boards with round holes drilled to fit over the conduit and then screwed into the top of the 2×6 boards.
Once he got all that done, he ran 15 pieces of strapping across the pool and over the cap. Then laid the shrink wrap over the top of the strapping and the top cap. He used 15 boards around the pool so that the shrink wrap could be tucked under and screwed to the deck, so it would be secure around the edge of the pool.
He contacted another one of our customers that does the shrinking, Zach to shrink the wrap for him.
It was an idea put to the test and we think it’s a great idea!

Each cylinder has a wide, stable base that prevents it from tipping over.
Unlike steel and aluminum tanks, Viking Cylinders® will not BELVE in a fire. BELVE is the technical abbreviation for Boiling Liquid Expanding Vapor Explosion. In layman’s terms, the cylinder will not explode in a fire. Instead, the resin will burn off, the plastic liner/casing will melt, and the LPG will “breathe” through the cylinder wall, while burning in a controlled manner.
